Also called commercial plywood
Made using urea-formaldehyde resin
Cannot withstand exposure to moisture or humidity.
Most affordable. Preferred for short life or use & throw commercial use.
Also known as marine plywood
Made using phenol-formaldehyde resin
Highly water-resistant / waterproof
Can withstand prolonged exposure to water, even boiling water
Stronger bonding and longer lifespan
More expensive
Best used for:
Indian Home Interiors. Mandatory for Kitchens, Bathrooms and walls adjacent to wet areas.
MR plywood is suitable only for dry indoor furniture, while BWP plywood is a much stronger, waterproof option designed for wet and high-moisture areas. Choosing between them depends entirely on the location of use—dry spaces can use MR to save cost, but kitchens and bathrooms require BWP for long-term durability.
